HP’s M650 series of color laser printers and their multifunction (MFP) versions range in print speed from approximately 50 to 60 letter-size pages per minute (ppm) for both color and black-and-white printing. Monthly duty cycles for the series are OEM-stated at 100,000 letter-size pages (M652, MFP M681) and 120,000 letter-size pages (M653, MFP M682).

The supplies set for all models is made up of four all-in-one toner cartridges, a maintenance kit, an image transfer belt and a toner collection unit. OEM-stated page yields for standard yield replacement cartridges are up to 12,500 pages for black and 10,500 pages for colors. High yield versions are OEM-stated at up to 28,000 pages for black and 22,000 pages for colors. The waste toner collection unit holds up to 100,000 pages worth of waste materials (all yields are based on letter-size pages).

All models in this family ship with a 12,500 page standard yield black toner cartridge and 10,500 page color toner cartridges (one each of cyan, magenta and yellow). All cartridges require a chip for correct printer operation.
